Posey County Perception Study

The board of the Posey County Economic Development Partnership, Inc. supported by the Posey County Community Foundation approached USI’s Center for Applied Research and Economic Development (CARED), to assist in conducting a study to determine the main factors that influence the decision to work and/or live in Posey County.

The need arises from the concern with current trends observed in the general population, the school system, and businesses in the area. The 2012 U.S. Census data showed a 4.3% decrease in the population of the county, taking it to 25,910.

The ultimate goal of this initiative is to obtain a clear understanding of the key factors that would allow Posey County to attract and retain young individuals and families to live and work in the county.
